Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic last day of term at Tanfield Comp today. The two Steves (Barlow and Skidmore) entertained us with hilarious tales from their stories. As you can see from the video below, it was a fully interactive experience, which the children raved about on the way home! They encouraged us to believe that 'we are all writers'. My favourite part was when they said that you should write about what you know: YOU! They also took the time to talk to Leah about her 100wc post. What was your favourite part? Enjoy the video below - sorry there is no sound, but I've added a Youtube clip to make it more atmospheric! Spooky Literacy Day from Mark temple on Vimeo. In 1923 slowly the sky got darker and darker jack was in his bed room and her a HISS and ran in the living room his mam came in the house and said " what is wrong with you".
He said " nothing I swear I swear, ok I will tell you there was a sharp HISS under my bed." Jacks mam said"no there was not let's check". It dissapierd some were and a green gloomie slime was on the bed in his mam's room the monster killed his mam and he was alone in the house. He was really scared being alone. What happened to him the next day... Following our technical problems today, with some children losing work on Microsoft 365, we found a way to post our 100 word challenges (taking a screen shot of our work, then cropping and posting as a picture)!
Some had to redo them so are a little rushed; thus, be understanding when commenting. It would be great if some of the Year 6s used our positive comments style (as Caitlin has begun to do) which can be found here! By tomorrow all of the 100 word challenges will be linked up to 100wc.net, so don't forget to leave positive comments for others and direct them back to your post by telling them your number on 100wc.net! In fact, Sky has had a lovely comment from a teacher called Miss Newton, because she left such a good comment for another child. Great work, Sky! Also, well done to Caitlin who has started commenting on others' work. If you have a straight line, and you know 1 angle on it, you can find out the remaining angle with this tutorial here by Sky. In Big Writing today, we developed arguments about whether to leave Bryher wracked by storms by adding 'posh' openers and facts to strengthen our ideas. We, of course, used our 'posh' voices to record them!
After last time's fabulous efforts, who is the poshest here? Sky is a born presenter! Here she shows us how to do simple addition. I look forward to seeing more Show Me presentations for other areas of Maths! |
